I should have named this blog "Harmony and Peace" now that I think about it.
For those who don't know who I am, my name is Kayla. I'm 22 years old and I am expecting my first child.
Even though 22 doesn't seem young to me, I do realize it is young to many.
I'm officially almost 30 weeks into my pregnancy and I am so super excited about how close I'm getting to meeting my little girl. Yes, we're having a girl! We're naming her Harmony (hence the name of the blog).
Her full name is actually Harmony Elaine Faye Morgan. Yes, it's a long name but it's one that means so much to me on so many levels. We picked the name Harmony because both Jeremy and myself have a love for music that is larger than life. Whether we're listening to music together or playing guitar it's something that we have always connected with. Music is a universal language. Elaine is my mom's middle name. My mom has always been my best friend. She's someone I turn to when I need someone to be honest, yet not judge me for whatever reason. I could not imagine my life without her. Finally, there's the name Faye. Faye is part of my own name and it's my granny's middle name.
My granny died when I was 14 due to cancer. My life has not been the same since then. Not a day goes by where I don't miss her. She was my best friend. She taught me how to sew, and she never got mad when I played in her awesome makeup collection. Her laugh was absolutely contagious, and she constantly had a smile on her face. I always dreamed about her watching me get married and welcoming her great grandchildren into the world, and even when I think about it now it feels like my heart is breaking all over again. Harmony is named after 2 amazing women, and I want her to be proud of it.
Now for some background on myself and Jeremy. I stated earlier that I am 22 years old, but there is so much more to me than a number obviously. My doctors told me when I was younger that I would never be able to play sports or own a pet due to my asthma. I'm someone who loves to prove people wrong. I have played soccer, owned several animals, and I have even been singing all of my life. I'm someone who loves really simple things like playing guitar, sitting outside, and sewing. I'm not exactly a complicated person at all. I'm normally a very friendly and easy going person. I love laughing and being goofy. I dance at random times and I have trouble with keeping my thoughts to myself at times. I also have a love for cooking and painting. I've been painting for so long now, and I am sad that I don't always have time to do it with my schedule. It's like riding a bike though, as soon as I pick it back up it's like I was never away from it,
Jeremy is also a very laid back person. Jeremy is extremely musically talented though he never admits to it. He loves laughing and making others laugh. He is also someone who has an extremely contagious laugh and smile. I can never stay mad at him for very long at all. He is also the hardest worker I've ever met in my life. When we met he had absolutely nothing. He had moved down here from Ohio and was trying to adjust to not having his Navy pay anymore. It was an interesting first year, but we always found something to do even when we were both completely broke. Now he works as a team leader at Target. I really could not be more proud of him. I'm glad that I have someone so completely awesome as my boyfriend. I know he's going to be an amazing daddy to Harmony.
